Pittsburgh Pre Sale Day:
Wednesday, September 13th
9AM – 9PM Consignors
Consignors shop before the public! Consignors can shop as early as Tuesday night at 5pm (and they can bring one friend with them!). Can’t make it Tuesday night? Shop all day Wednesday!
9am – 9pm Friends of Consignors
You can only attend this presale if you get a pass from a registered consignor. Make best friends now!
10am – 9pm Early Bird
This is for anyone who just wants to be “THE FIRST THROUGH THE SALE”. The cost is $10, per adult. Children are free. Preregister to get your pass OR pay cash at the door. You are shopping for everything! Early Bird tickets are non-refundable.
12PM – 9PM Daycare and Preschool Staff
In order to shop during this presale, you need to advertise our event to your clients! Do you work at a daycare or preschool? Then this sale is designed for you. You usually have a laundry list of items and spend most of your time in our toy room. You need all the toys, books, and games that we have – in duplicate! Make sure to hit the book department first, especially the board books! Then check out the furniture for an extra changing table, or storage bins. We provide itemized receipts, so make sure to keep it for your tax purposes. To participate email us at jen@sunflowersprouts.org
1pm – 9pm New Parent
This is for expectant moms & dads, & first time parents with a baby under 12 months. You are shopping for ALL the baby stuff! Strollers, pack and plays, high chairs, bouncers, bottles, bath tubs, cute baby shoes, and, of course, clothing! Don’t forget Mom – We have ALL THE MATERNITY CLOTHING, nursing bras, breastfeeding books, and baby slings that you never knew you needed but are SO HELPFUL!
1PM – 9PM Adoptive and Foster Parents
This is for parents who are fostering or have recently adopted a child. You are shopping for the basics to have on hand when a child is placed with you! You never know what you’re going to need, so getting some basics at a great price is always helpful! It’s always good to have some extra toys or clothes just in case!
1pm – 9pm Grandparent
This is for Grandmas and Grandpas only! Obviously! You are shopping for a little bit of everything! Extra clothes and pajamas for your house, books, toys and games that can become favorite memories, a bedding set for your crib, just all the extras that mom and dad don’t want to haul back and forth. Grandmas always have something that will work in a pinch!
2PM – 9PM Parents of Multiples
This is for moms (and dads can register too) of twins, triplets, quadruplets, dare we go higher? You are shopping for the clothes (some want them matchy matchy, some don’t), the toys (doubles of everything to avoid the fights) and the deals (because hey, two or more at once is just expensive).
4pm – 9pm Frontline workers
You know who you are! And you have the badge to prove it! Our doctors and nurses, teachers, police and EMS, Military members, and Firefighters. Preregister and show your badge at the door for this time slot. You might be shopping for outside toys – those bikes, trikes, scooters, and motorized ride-ons that the kids like to pretend they are coming to someone’s rescue. Or maybe you are shopping the educational section for a chalkboard for your child that wants to be a teacher. Doctor kits for the pretend play of our future hospital workers! We have it all!
5pm – 9pm Working parents
You’ve worked all day, & you don’t want to miss out on all the fun! You are shopping for everything but most of all the deals! You always head for the shoes first, because hey, shoes are expensive and your kids’ feet keep growing! Rain boots, sneakers, and dress shoes are all on your list.

Squishmallows/TY Beanie Babies (SPRING 2023)
We now accept these to sell. They must be like new and have their fabric brand tags attached.
Seasonal Changes
Hoodies (Under Armour and Nike) and sleep sacks are now accepted all year long. See our updated list of seasonal items accepted at each sale. We’ve detailed which Holiday clothing to sell at each sale, and which Pittsburgh Sports Teams. Cleveland and Buffalo sports teams for Erie as well.
Car Seats (Fall 2023)
We are now accepting car seats! All of these procedures are in place after conducting research on the law and from other sales. They will sell if you price them reasonably!
Here’s the rules: No EXCEPTIONS!
- You CANNOT choose to donate an unsold car seat. We can not donate used car seats. Car seats that remain unsold at the end of the sale, must be picked up from the sale location.
- Car seats must have two years of use left. Check the date on the manufacturers tag. This ensures a buyer will get two years of use out of it.
- No expired car seats or car seats that have been in an accident If you try to sell a car seat that has expired, we will charge you a $100 fee to dispose of it. This will be deducted from your consignor check. You will sign a release for each car seat declaring that the seat is not recalled and has never been in an accident. This will remain with us for our records. You will sign these forms at drop off.
Bundles
We recommend you bundle no more than 3 clothing items together (three shirts, three pants, shirt/pants/sweater). Any more than this gets heavy for the hanger and doesn’t sell as well.
We recommend when bundling your books you use string or ribbon and NOT a resealable bag. Books in bags don’t sell as well.
Read through Bundling Items for Consignment Sales for helpful hints and rules.
New Grab N Go section (Spring 2023)
We have a new section we are calling Grab ‘N Go. Everything in this section is in a sealed zip top bag. Nothing is priced over $5. This is bundling of like items at its finest. This helps us keep our toy tables clear of small $2 items.
Examples: Bag of McDonald’s toys for $2, Gallon bag of bouncy balls, bag of bath toys (no mold!), Bag of little farm animals, Bag of army men, Bag of small finger puppets. The goal of this section is an EASY way for parents who bring their kids to the sale to grab a small toy for being a great shopper! It’s an easy yes, because it’s small, priced right, and doesn’t matter if it gets lost under minivan seats on the way home.
