Drop Off
Hello Consignors!
We’re so glad you’re here & have a lot of tips and tools inside this consignor kit. Please take the time & read over each category. If you have any questions, email us!
When?
- Drop off days occur on the Sunday and Monday before the sale is open to the public.
- Appointments are booked as a half hour time slot, but plan for this to take longer the more items you have or if this is your first time.
Leave a box
Coming back to get what doesn’t sell? Leave a bin! A box or plastic bin is acceptable. No plastic lids please. Make sure your consignor number is big and visible! Pickup is the MONDAY after we are open to the public. You must pick up by 7PM. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
Say Hello!
- Look for the welcome tent outside the building! Say Hello at the welcome tent and get assigned a spot to drop your stuff.

- Go to directed entrance and find your assigned holding spot.

- Unload all your items in the holding zone assigned to you. We have some rolling carts but not enough for everyone. We recommend you bring a wagon or a helper with you to help you get your items into the building.

- MOVE YOUR CAR to a parking space.

- Hang your clothes on a rolling rack (you might have to wait for one. Thank you for your patience.)

Inspection of items
- An inspector will go through each item you bring in the building.

- Do your clothes have stains or holes? Are they hanging on a hanger? Is the hanger facing the correct direction? Is the tag in the correct spot? Is the tag printed on the correct cardstock? (not colored or sparkly).

- Do your toys work? Do your baby items turn on? We will plug them in!

- Get CLAIM tags on things over $25 or that are too heavy or bulky to carry around the sale.

Floor your items
- Plan for this to take 1-2 hrs depending on how many items you’ve tagged and how fast you move. (You are allowed to bring a helper!) This will go faster if you have presorted your items!

- Sort your clothes by size and gender. Some people put garbage bags over the groups of clothes. Some use rubber bands or zip ties around the hangers to keep each size together. Put your baby items in another bin/box and your toys/games in another bin/box.
- Put out your clothes first! Get your clothes off the rolling racks so the next person can use it!

- Books get their own box! Just presort them at the “BOOK DROP OFF” table. Our wonderful book ladies will shelf them!

- To help your items sell best, floor your items in the correct department. If you have questions, please ask someone in yellow! Also, please reference the floor map!

- Don’t leave anything in your holding spot. Unfloored Items left in the inspection area will be placed in your pick up bin. (or donated if you chose to donate)

- Take all plastic bins home with you. Cardboard boxes can be left in the designated areas and we will use them to pack donations at the end of the sale.
Say Goodbye!
This last step is SO IMPORTANT!
When you “say goodbye”
- WE TURN ON YOUR TAGS in the system. If you don’t say goodbye, we can’t sell your stuff!
- We give you your swag bag.
- We give you your Friend of Consignor shopping pass.
- We verify that you are either donating items or picking up at the end of the sale. We answer any questions you might have.
Donating all?
This means you don’t want anything back. You will be able to print a donation report of all unsold items and attach it to one or more donation letters from the various charities that will receive these items following the Pittsburgh and Erie sales.

Squishmallows/TY Beanie Babies (SPRING 2023)
We now accept these to sell. They must be like new and have their fabric brand tags attached.
Seasonal Changes
Hoodies (Under Armour and Nike) and sleep sacks are now accepted all year long. See our updated list of seasonal items accepted at each sale. We’ve detailed which Holiday clothing to sell at each sale, and which Pittsburgh Sports Teams. Cleveland and Buffalo sports teams for Erie as well.
Car Seats (Fall 2023)
We are now accepting car seats! All of these procedures are in place after conducting research on the law and from other sales. They will sell if you price them reasonably!
Here’s the rules: No EXCEPTIONS!
- You CANNOT choose to donate an unsold car seat. We can not donate used car seats. Car seats that remain unsold at the end of the sale, must be picked up from the sale location.
- Car seats must have two years of use left. Check the date on the manufacturers tag. This ensures a buyer will get two years of use out of it.
- No expired car seats or car seats that have been in an accident If you try to sell a car seat that has expired, we will charge you a $100 fee to dispose of it. This will be deducted from your consignor check. You will sign a release for each car seat declaring that the seat is not recalled and has never been in an accident. This will remain with us for our records. You will sign these forms at drop off.
Bundles
We recommend you bundle no more than 3 clothing items together (three shirts, three pants, shirt/pants/sweater). Any more than this gets heavy for the hanger and doesn’t sell as well.
We recommend when bundling your books you use string or ribbon and NOT a resealable bag. Books in bags don’t sell as well.
Read through Bundling Items for Consignment Sales for helpful hints and rules.
New Grab N Go section (Spring 2023)
We have a new section we are calling Grab ‘N Go. Everything in this section is in a sealed zip top bag. Nothing is priced over $5. This is bundling of like items at its finest. This helps us keep our toy tables clear of small $2 items.
Examples: Bag of McDonald’s toys for $2, Gallon bag of bouncy balls, bag of bath toys (no mold!), Bag of little farm animals, Bag of army men, Bag of small finger puppets. The goal of this section is an EASY way for parents who bring their kids to the sale to grab a small toy for being a great shopper! It’s an easy yes, because it’s small, priced right, and doesn’t matter if it gets lost under minivan seats on the way home.
